The NHGA’s Golf Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Dinner and Annual Meeting was held at Manchester Country Club on Sunday, June 26, 2022.
Tina Tombs, LPGA and Jim Sheerin, PGA were inducted for their accomplishments and contributions that have made an impact on golf in the Granite State.
The McDonough Foundation’s Stan Lencki Distinguished Service Award was also presented to Mitchell Jean at the Hall of Fame Dinner by McDonough President Bill Everett.
Mitch has been a mainstay of golf in New Hampshire and New England and has contributed his talents in many ways. He was a member of the McDonough Foundation Board of Directors for 25 years and served as the President, Vice President, Secretary and chairman of the Scholarship Committee.
He was a member of the Laconia Country Club Board of Directors and served as the club’s president.
Mitch is currently the Vice President of the New England Senior Golf Association, the oldest senior golf association in the country.
He serves on the advisory Board of the First Tee of New Hampshire and was the visionary behind the New Hampshire Golf House…which transitioned into the New Hampshire Golf Association.
Mitch recently joined the Board of the NHGA.
Mitch personifies all the best qualities of golf — integrity, sportsmanship and humility. His service to golf in New Hampshire and the McDonough Foundation in particular has been exceptional. He is truly the unsung hero of New Hampshire Golf.
